„Jetzt oder nie“! - „Now or never!“

Die Woche war geschafft, das Wochenende lag vor mir. Unerwartet kam mir eine alte Kollegin in den Sinn und dann das Motto: „Jetzt oder nie“. Lange hatte ich mich bei ihr nicht mehr gemeldet. Mittlerweile war ihr Mann verstorben und sie hatte eine altersgerechte Wohnung bezogen.  Jetzt oder nie! Ich rief sie an. Als sie meinen Namen am Telefon hörte, musste sie sogar weinen. Ein langes Gespräch entwickelte sich, so als hätten wir noch gestern miteinander auf der Arbeit am Kopierer gestanden und miteinander geredet. Was für ein wertvoller Moment!

The week was done, the weekend lay ahead of me. Unexpectedly an old colleague came to my mind and then the motto: "Now or never". I had not contacted her for a long time. In the meantime, her husband had passed away and she had moved into an apartment suitable for her age.  Now or never! I called her. When she heard my name on the phone, she even h to cry. A long conversation started as if we had been standing at the copier at work yesterday and were talking to each other. What a precious moment!
