We made a little film. It was about speaking the words of Jesus to young people. I had asked a young woman who had come to Germany as a refugee if she would be willing to take on this role. She gladly accepted. Fluidly and in a very appealing manner, she stood in front of the camera: "Why did you doubt?" she asked the young people in reference to Peter, who was threatening to sink on the Sea of Galilee. And then came Jesus' word to the disciples, "You give them to eat!" That word struck me. The next day I looked again at the little video passage. Again this word: Give them to eat! At that moment, images of old people in need in Aleppo came before my inner eye. I felt: You have to react. Through various contacts, a bridge was built directly to Aleppo. In the following days, I read an email from a committed person in the Syrian city: "Thank you very much for your email. It made me rediscover Heavenly Father's care, because exactly a month ago we started organizing visits to old lonely people to bring them hope!" And then she wrote of their plan of how to proceed. I felt: God has called us anew on the way to build bridges. go4peace - building bridges!
