Would you like a little bit more?

Before she left for her home country, I wanted to bring her a present for her family. On the way there, I met an oversized truck in the city centre that had lost its way. The driver looked very desperate. I helped him to launch the 20-metre-long vehicle backwards out of a dead end and then rode my bike two kilometres ahead of him until he could find his way on his own. He waved his thanks. I continued on to the student's flat. Despite telephone arrangements, I did not meet her. I decided not to be disappointed and prayerfully cycled back to my flat. "By chance" I met an elderly woman whom I had not seen for a long time and who urgently wanted to tell me something. Patiently I listened. I continued on and met a priest whom I had also not met for a long time. We found a few moments of exchange. During this conversation, the message came that I could now bring the gift over. So I went to the student again. I handed over the gift and met a younger man in front of her house who asked me who I was. I am a catholic father, I told him. He asked for my card and said, "Great to have met you! I'll send you something else!" Back home, everything was done and God had added so much more.
