I was standing in a long line at the sales counter in a large bakery. People were coming and going and I could feel how the sales assistants didn't always keep track of things and how some customers pushed their way in. The motto of the day came to mind, inviting me to find peace in my heart in the presence of Jesus. So I waited patiently. When one of the shop assistants asked again: ‘And whose turn is it now?’ I looked peacefully at the people next to me. An older man responded immediately: ‘So now it's your turn. You've been waiting here patiently for so long and I've only arrived later!’
