I visited a secondary school in our city with a small group of the team from the John Paul II Youth Centre in Sarajevo. With colourful pictures and various experiences, we presented the opportunity of an Voluntary Service Year at the youth centre in the heart of Bosnia-Herzegovina. One pupil was particularly interested in what she had heard and had the courage to keep asking questions. Two days later, I received a WhatsApp message: ‘My daughter asked me to send you her number. She would be happy to receive a call!’ I rang and had the young woman on the phone who had shown such interest. We spoke for a long time. At the end she said: ‘What a great phone call that was. I'm really touched. Somehow I feel that I have to stay in touch with all of this!’
