At the beginning of the mass, two girls caught my eye. One I knew, the second I saw for the first time. I felt the impulse to address these two young people in particular in my sermon. I talked about the "Eckmänneken in the youth center Hardehausen" - a stone figure in the cloister of the old Cistercian monastery - above which it is written: "I have meat and bread and yet I suffer famine." With some personal experiences I gave the listeners an understanding that the things of this world cannot satisfy the hunger of our hearts in the end. I saw how fascinated the two girls were listening. After the service they came and one of them shyly asked, "Can my friend also still join the confirmation preparation?" Of course it was possible. A few days later, they sat at our Tiny House and eagerly followed the reflection module "Decide to be happy!" I saw the joy in their eyes!
