little dreams

I was very moved by the visit of a brother from Syria. His life was a speaking testimony. He gave his life for his people in Aleppo. I had spoken about this story in the Sunday sermon. Then I had built a bridge to the poor widow in the Gospel who had given two small coins into the offering box in the temple. With this she had - full of trust - given everything. This gesture had touched Jesus' heart deeply. - It is the authenticity and intensity of our lives that touches the heart of Jesus today and sets it in motion. Then I talked about how the ‘Little dreams’ project in Syria, in which 100 refugee children are helped to become strong for school, had fallen deeply into my heart and how I had felt that Jesus was knocking on my door again with this project. Trustingly, I had again said yes to supporting the required amount. I could feel how moved many of those attending the service were as they listened. After the service, I read a WhatsApp: ‘Your life spoke again today from the Bible text, from the prayers and from the sermon! I am deeply touched. Thank you!' And then an elderly woman who doesn't have much money came and put an envelope in my hand. I opened it and found €500. ‘Little dreams!’ My eyes filled with tears of gratitude.
