It seemed hopeless!

Two classes from a secondary school came to the Tiny House one after the other and I introduced them to Logbook 1 ‘My life - windswept and brilliant’ and showed them what they could gain for their own lives by working with the book. I was told by the second group that more than half of the students would not graduate from school. They were simply not up to the level required and had not learnt to work hard. During the time in our group, some of the young people were talking non-stop. Both lessons went well, given to the circumstances, but I could see the teachers' deep disappointment with the young people after the group sessions. One of the women said to me: ‘I just can't do it any more. I can no longer teach this one class!’ I listened for a long time. We parted with hope. Then, days later, an email: ‘I'm so glad that we were able to reach some of the young people with the project after all. We need 10 logbooks, because 10 of the pupils definitely want to work with the book so that they can use it for their lives!’
