It was a day that had started hard. I was struggling with a lot of sorrow. I asked Jesus for consolation and help, but in everything I had the feeling being absolutely helpless. So I went to the school. A child full of energy came running towards me. The little girl had come from Africa two years ago. As Christians, they had had to go through terrible experiences there. Now the little girl had totally arrived in her new environment. Unexpected she asked me: "Do you actually read the Bible? I had not expected this question at all. When I told her that I often do and that I was reading the New Testament again, she ran to her seat and came back with a decorative notebook. In it she had lovingly written down passages from the Bible in her most beautiful handwriting. When she learned that I also write down Bible passages that mean a lot to me, she beamed at me with complete happiness. We decided that next week I would bring them to her and we would practically give God's word to each other. I took a photo of her Bible passages with my mobile phone. Later I read them through at my leisure. There was so much comfort, love and protection from God in those passages that I was struck to the core. It was as if God was directly answering my prayer of this morning through the little African girl. A moment in which eternity dawned.
