My heart was warmed.

We met quite unexpectedly after a church service. They were a couple. The woman had listened attentively to my sermon. She asked about my work. I began to explain that I am committed to helping young people prepare for life – including in schools in social hotspots. They should be given the chance to find their place in society. I told her about a class in which I had worked with 95% Muslim teenagers. The woman let me know that she was also a Muslim. “I was so deeply moved during the sermon when you spoke of God. My heart felt so warm!” Then she fell silent, looking at me with wide eyes. Moments of silence followed. “It did me so much good,” she added, and then the couple left. A saying by Isaac the Syrian came to mind: “There is only one sin: to have no sense of the Risen One!”
