She had lived in our town for many years. Then, due to her age, she went to live with her daughter. Since then, we had kept in sporadic contact via a messaging service. She often responded with a few words to the daily motto, and I could sense how much she aspired to live each day of her old age with awareness. On Epiphany Day of the new year, the motto was: ‘Have the courage to set out!’ She wrote: ‘I need that! TODAY I'm moving into the retirement home!’ I promised her my prayers. The next day, our motto was: ‘Only when you set out will you find the light!’ In the evening of that day, she wrote: ‘Arrived, accepted!’
