I hadn't seen them for a long time. Years ago, they had come to our country from Iraq. When their time allowed, they came to church on Sundays. Now she called. She needed three Bibles. A little curious, I asked what she needed them for. She told me how her two boys - both in their teens - had started to take a keen interest in the Bible and how their children's Bible was no longer enough for them. ‘They want to read the real Bible every day!’ They also have a friend with them. ‘So I need three!’ And as she knew that our church is always open in the mornings, she shyly asked: ‘Is there also a chance for my children to pray in the church in the afternoon? They love this church space so much! We quickly found a way to fulfil this sincere wish.
