We hadn't seen each other for years. My job had changed. Then life brought us together again in a working group. After three hours of working together, a familiar atmosphere had developed with all the participants. My colleague looked at me. ‘Do you remember when we travelled to Rome with lots of young people?’ - ‘Go on,’ I let him know. ‘I was in a real crisis and, as a teenager, I didn't know what to do next. Faith and the church no longer meant anything to me! But I went to Rome anyway. I hardly knew anyone. I sat in the front row of the bus and hoped that nobody would sit next to me. And then you came and sat next to me and we got into a very lively, honest and deep conversation. You told me a lot of very personal experiences. But you left me completely free! And that impressed me and really touched me and made me ask new questions! Today I am once again travelling within the horizon of the church and my faith means a lot to me!’
