On the way to Santiago, I came across a representation of the cross in a village church, where Jesus is nailed to the cross with his left hand and his right hand is held out invitingly to the viewer from the cross. We made a small picture from this depiction and wrote on the back: "Jesus says to you from the crosses of this world. I NEED YOU!" A nun had distributed these pictures among her other nuns. When she visited one of the older sisters in her room in the afternoon, she seemed very sad. When asked, this sister said: "I am too rich. My money separates me from Jesus!" The little prayer card lay in front of this sister. Jesus stretched out his hand into this situation. When the visiting sister told the older sister where this picture had been made, the sad sister asked: ‘Can you give my money there?’ She silently handed over an envelope containing twenty five-euro notes. ‘How nice that I can help with this, now my soul is at peace again!’
